What To Consider Before Buying A Static Caravan
Before paying any deposits, it’s important to think about a few aspects of static caravan home ownership.
Location
Don’t just think about the holiday park location, but also consider where your plot is located on the park. Will you be close to any evening entertainment that might cause some late night noise, or, are you next to the children’s play park when you value your Sunday morning late sleep ins?
Layout
You likely know how many beds and bedrooms are best for you but have you thought about an extra toilet or a more open plan kitchen and lounge area? Spend as much time in any potential static caravan or lodge before you buy it to get a really good feel for the space.
Costs
Aside from the initial cost of the holiday home, do you know all the associated costs? There are site fees to be paid as well as utilities such as gas, electric and water. Also, put aside some budget for maintenance.
Insurance
Although not a legal requirement, most holiday parks will require that you have static caravan insurance as part of their site agreement. Many parks offer insurance as part of the sales package but it is worth comparing it with other companies.
